McLaren,
Mercedes Benz
Here comes the weirdest car of all time. Why am I say it? Because you have to pay for over half a million pound sterling for a car without roof and windscreen. Do you think it’s worth it? Read my review below and then do your evaluation.
This production of this car only limited to 75 units. So, we know this is a very very special car. The Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Stirling Moss using the 5.4L V8 AMG engine assisted by SOHC, 3 valves per cylinder valvetrain. This already big engine also boosted by the screw-type compressor with two charge-air coolers. Under the hood, the power produced by this special monster is 650 bhp @ 6500 RPM and torque 604.8 lbs.ft @ 4000 RPM. The 5-speed automatic transmission with speedshift system had been used to transferred the output of the engine to the rear wheels.
To make balance for the ride and handling for this car, the expensive steering and suspension system had been designed for this car. For the steering, the rack and pinion with speed sensitive assist had been built to give the good handling for the driver. For suspension, the double wishbone suspension had been used for both the front and rear suspension system.
The information above still don’t impressed you about this special car? Let’s see what this car can do on the track. The Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Stirling Moss can be driven until reach the top speed of 217.35 mph (350 kph) and the acceleration 0-60 mph in just 3.4 seconds. Imagine you is in this car without roof and windshield, do you think you want to drive this car until reach the top speed? Maybe your head will be blown off by the wind even before you reach the 200 mph. Still cannot imagine this car? Let’s see the pictures below
