Maybach 57 Zeppelin
For all of the readers that constantly follow this blog might know that this week is the 2009 New York International Auto Show. The two previous entries before, I had brought you wander the New York International Auto Show by giving you the pictures from the great cars that features in this year auto show. For this entry, I want to review a car from Maybach that also features in this year New York Auto Show. Maybach had been well known for producing the luxurious cars. This Maybach 57 Zeppelin also been the same. Why? Let’s read my review.
Maybach 57 Zeppelin using the 6.0L V12 front longitudinal engine with the 3 valves per cylinder valvetrain. This big engine produce the maximum power of 640 bhp @ 4800 RPM and maximum torque of 737.6 lbs.ft @ 2000 RPM. What a high value of torque. This car using the FR layout, means the engine is at the front while the driven wheel is at the rear. The power from the engine transferred to the rear wheel by a 5-speed automatic transmission.
The high price of the car always refer to the performance of the car on the track. So, let’s look at whether the performance on the road of this car really worth the prices or the prices only for the luxurious of the car. The top speed of the Maybach 57 Zeppelin is 170.78 mph (275 kph) while it can accelerate 0-60 mph in only 4.0 seconds. Wow, it’s really worth the prices and it can outpace some of the car that was labeled under the sports car.
Because it is the luxury car, the suspension system used in this car also expensive. For the front, the double wishbone suspension system has been used and for the rear, the multi-link independent suspension system has been used. Both of the front and rear suspension have been assisted with AIRMATIC DC full air suspension system with level control, anti-dive control and torsion bar stabilizer. The recirculating ball with power assist steering has been used for this Maybach 57 Zeppelin. If you think you are too rich, mind consider to buy this car. Let’s look at the body of this babe.
