This 2009 New York International Auto Show really very interesting. After we roam around the New York Auto Show in the two previous entries, this entry also related to this auto show but I like to review a car. And that car is the 2010 Kia Forte Coupe.
This Kia Forte Coupe is the first ever two door coupe that was produced by the Kia Motors. Even it is the 2-door coupe, it is still using the same platform as the Kia Forte sedan. The Kia Forte Coupe comes with the two variants, the EX and SX version.
Under the hood, the EX version comes with the 2.0L CVVT engine with the 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission. The 2.0L engine boost the output of 156 hp and maximum torque of 144 lbs.ft. For more sporty SX version, it comes with the bigger engine and of course better performance. The 2.4L engine in the SX version produce maximum power of 173 hp and maximum torque of 168 lbs.ft. This engine was mated with a 6-speed manual or 5-speed Sportmatic automatic transmission under the hood.
The suspension using for this Kia Forte Coupe is the same as in Kia Forte sedan. It use the McPherson strut suspension at the front and the torsion beam suspension at the rear. For the SX version, there are some interesting features will be added such as leather steering wheel and shifter pedal, metal pedals, supervision self-illuminating meter panel and sports cloth seats. The topic about the new MPV from Proton, really got many response. To make it more hot, how about I review the rival for the Proton Exora, the Naza Citra Rondo. This is the second generation of the Naza Citra and the review is as below.
The Naza Citra Rondo come with the 2 variants, the EX and EXS. The Naza Citra Rondo come with the 2.0L engine and be assisted with the DOHC CVVT valvetrain. This 2.0L engine produce maximum power of 145 PS @ 6000 RPM and maximum torque of 189 N.m @ 4250 RPM. This MPV using the 4-speed automatic transmission that was equipped with the Gate Type and shiftronic.
For the comfort of the passenger, the McPherson strut suspension has been used for the front suspension. For the rear suspension, the multi-link suspension equipped with the gas shock absorber has been used. For the driver, the audio control also has been installed on the steering for the EXS variant.
The safety of the passenger also has been taken note. The usage of the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Brake Force Distribution for all wheels has risen the braking system level for this Naza Citra Rondo. The usage of dual front airbags also can reduce the probability of the driver and the passenger to injure badly.
For the Malaysian that want to buy the MPV that equipped with the suitable engine, better performance, interesting features and also the safety precaution, this might be your choices. The Naza Rondo EX comes with the price of RM84 888 while for the EXS, the price is RM88 888. So, make your choices. This Naza Citra Rondo or the new Proton Exora?
