Hyundai 2010 Genesis Coupe

Hyundai announced their rear wheel drive sports coupe segment.. It is nice car..

the Coupe offers a turbocharged 2.0-litre four or optional 3.8-litre V6 engine. Once again, Hyundai is tressing the value proposition by pricing the base Genesis Coupe Turbo below competitors such as the Honda Civic Si and Mitsubishi Eclipse.

The Coupe’s styling is genuinely attractive – its rear-wheel drive architecture allows a longitudinal engine placed further back in the chassis, thereby allowing a lower hoodline than typical front-wheel drive sporty coupes. To emphasize its speedy nature, the hood features wind-sculpted V-shape character lines flowing from the lower front bumper into and over the hood. The coupe’s low, wide stance is accentuated by low-profile 45-series 18-inch tires and alloy wheels, while its rakish, wedge-shaped profile is enhanced by unique overlapping character lines in the doors and unique rear side windows that drop down into the rear fenders. The rear end features a high trunklid with a sharp cutoff, wraparound taillights, and a black bumper insert with protruding twin exhaust tips.

Hyundai Atos

This car might be not the new car since this car has entered the market since 2005. But when I take a walk on the road, it seems that this car might be one of the popular small city car that had been driven by the citizens of Malaysia. Maybe the small size of this car attract the people especially women to drive this car on the crowded road. In addition, this car remembers me about a friend that drive this compact car.

The Hyundai Atos use the 1.1L inline 4-cylinders engine that is located at the front in transverse position. This engine is assisted by the OHC, 3 valves per cylinder valvetrain and fuel injection system. This Hyundai Atos produce the maximum power of 58 hp (43 kW) @ 5450 RPM and maximum torque of 61.2 lbs.ft (83 N.m) @ 2850 RPM. This power transferred by the 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission and the front wheel drive layout.

The performance on the road might not impress you all but I think the performance is just enough for this engine size and the purpose of this car. The top speed of the Hyundai Atos is 90.7 mph (146 kph) and the acceleration 0-100 kph is estimated at 15.8 seconds. Not good but suitable for a small city car.

This small car’s target market is the career women that work in a crowded city. So, the suspension system must provide the maximum comfort to the passenger. The McPherson strut suspension has been used for the front suspension due to the comfort and low cost. For the rear, the torsion beam axle has been used as the suspension system. Also, the power assisted rack and pinion steering has been used to provide easiness when handling the car. Enough with review, let’s look at whether the images below can attract you to buy this car.

Hyundai Genesis Coupe

March 22, 2009 :: Posted by - bdfabregas :: Category - Hyundai

As I mentioned in the entry before, the Hyundai Genesis had been announced as the 2009 North American Car of The Year. To enhance the brand of the Hyundai Genesis, the Hyundai Genesis Coupe had been introduced to public in 2008 press conference for New York International Auto Show. The Hyundai Genesis Coupe had been expected to join the Hyundai line up in the spring of this year.

Hyundai Genesis Coupe has the big engine installed in it. The big 3.8L engine make it one of the biggest engine that had been installed in the sports car in Asia. This Lambda, front longitudinal engine had been assisted with DOHC, 4 valves per cylinder valvetrain. With the big engine, of course it will also produce the big output. Only with natural aspiration, this engine can produce 306 bhp and torque 263 lbs.ft. Without the assisting of any turbocharger, this engine can produce more than 300 bhp. Amazing, right? The big output from this engine had been transferred by the 6-speed manual transmission to the rear wheel.

For a sports car, big power means nothing until it had been tested on the track. This Hyundai Genesis Coupe had been expected to reach the top speed of 149 mph (239.8 kph) and it can accelerate from static to 60 mph in only 5.9 seconds. Great job had been done by the Hyundai engineer to ensure that this big engine also can give the best performance on the track.

To ensure the driver and the passenger always feel comfortable when riding this Hyundai Genesis Coupe, the suitable suspension system had been installed in this car. The McPherson strut suspension system had been used as the front suspension and for the rear, the 5 link suspension system had been installed. Both of this suspension system had been assisted with the coil springs, gas pressure shock absorbers and anti-roll bar. Also, the rack and pinion steering with power assist has been used to ensure the comfortability of the driver when handling this car. Let’s look at this babe’s images below.
